Variation on a wedding theme

Well, after making several cards in the past 12 months for 40th wedding anniversarys - one more to go this August - I've now made a couple of cards for actual weddings.  I was inspired by one I saw on a blog some time ago and adapted/lifted it for my own use.  Used colours and themes from the weddings involved.

J & M wedding, 5 May 2012

(Pics not brilliant, but show the cards, think these qualify as Clean And Simple.  Try to ignore the radiator!)
First one for the wedding next week of a friend's son, their colours are ivory and pale green.  The card is a DL ivory/cream pearlised card with the words computer generated and over-stamped with a Hot Off The Press scroll in Brilliance Pearlesent Lime and 3Dd.  Edges distressed.  The green ribbon is stuck on with glue dot.  It was a bit too wide to punch a hole and tie the pieces together which I did with the ribbon on the card below.  Two green pearlised hearts from a sheet from Paperchase, I think.

Similar card for my #1 son's wedding last year.  Their invitations were very simple but did have some scrolls on them.  The card is narrower, think A4 folded in half.  But again ivory/cream pearlised card.  Stamped in London fog, this time the red ribbon is actually tied through punched holes, which probably signifies the 'together' sentiment rather better.

I have eclectic styles in my crafting.  Now have 3 birthday cards to make which ought to be in the post tomorrow.  In UK, that's the day the postal charges rise.  However I have made an effort to buy up some stamps which should last me some time.  (No I'm not storing them in my garage in a gerry-can along with petrol.)

Card making is my main crafting passion, but recently have discovered Art Journaling and more especially Dylusions products - stamps and inks.

Still have a couple of knitting projects on the needles, but that's me.  I see something new and like to have a try.  I had planned to finish off at least two projects before starting a new one.

  1. I had to smile when I saw these card as I created a similar design sometime ago, if you were inspired by mine, thank you, and I love your own take on the idea, they are beautiful.

    1. Hi there, thanks for your comments, these might well have been based on a card you've made. I've been looking at your blog for a while now, and I'd forgotten where I spotted the original, but felt it important to say it'd been 'lifted'. I couldn't find it again when I looked just now. So thanks anyway! I was very pleased with these cards, not everyone wants cute or slushy.
